“Brazen and On Your Side…Until She’s Not.”
BIOGRAPHY
Justine S. Harrison’s diverse exposure to the performing arts has blossomed into a growing acting career. Her grandmother, Shirley, produced and owned a theater company in Long Island where Harrison grew up. Her parents instilled in her a love and respect for arthouse and foreign films with frequent trips to the independent cinema.
Justine Harrison’s piercing green eyes have certainly helped her land roles, but so has her talent and training. Harrison studied acting since junior high and high school at various institutions including New School University, Matt Newton Studios, HB Studios (Austin Pendleton, Anne Jackson, Mark Blum), Lesly Kahn, The Barrow Group, Frenchwoods Festival of the Performing Arts (famous alumni include Gideon Glick, Zooey Deschanel, etc) and more.
Harrison can be seen in many arenas in film, TV, and theater. Her credits include projects for Netflix, Amazon Prime, AppleTV, MTV, Hulu, TLC, Tubi, and more. Harrison starred alongside Eric Roberts in Hide & Seek, Hemky Madera in The Last Intervention and Lenny Thomas in The Beggerman (due out this year). She’s worked with many more talented artists and creators.
She also had a role in the entertaining and unique film titled Sam & Mattie Make a Zombie Movie, created by and starring two artists with Down Syndrome. Stream it on AppleTV, Tubi or Prime. This film was featured in People Magazine, Buzzfeed, PBS, The Atlanta Journal Constitution and on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” A sequel is in the works…
Harrison’s theater credits include the New York Fringe Festival for the New York premiere of the Clive Barker play The History of the Devil. She’s performed at venues such as Theater for the New City, La MaMa, Leonard Nimoy Theatre at the Symphony Space, and more in NYC.
She currently performs with the long-running NYC murder mystery Murdered by the Mob. She’s received many positive reviews, including from the Philadelphia Inquirer and Medium.
One of Harrison’s dream roles would be a slow-moving, existential drama that’s European in style. Influenced by a European cinema class she took in college, Harrison is a fan of directors Michael Haneke, Bela Tarr, Tarkovsky, and Sean Ellis. She also enjoys the work of American directors Paul Thomas Anderson, and Rick Alverson.
When she’s not in front of the camera or under stage lights, Harrison is writing. She’s an active member of writing, development and acting group Brazen Giant Ensemble where she’s developing a comedy pilot. Other script writing/producing includes the romantic drama film Graceless that is streaming on Prime and other platforms. She’s also an avid poet having written over 70 poems.
She is a NYC, LA, ATL, DC, and NC/PA local hire.
